Summer Growing Together

We are so pleased to announce two very special summer sessions of Growing Together here at the Minnesota Waldorf School. Bring your littlest ones and join in creating a safe, nurturing, community space with other families. These classes aim to empower parents while providing support and community all with a Waldorf backdrop on our beautiful 8 acres campus. Classes are open to care providers and their little ones starting at 12 months through age five, Fridays July 14th – July 28th and Saturdays August 5th – August 26th.

Registration is available here.

Get to know Emily Barstad, our Growing Together Leader.

What are you looking forward to most this summer?

My husband, baby boy, and I are headed to Brazil in June for a wedding (big sisters are off to Camp Grandma Grandpa). We will be gone for a couple weeks, and I am both excited and busy packing. Other than that, I love heat, sun, and beaches so I am just generally looking forward to another Minnesota summer!

What is your favorite way to cool off with the kiddos?

We go to Fort Snelling a lot (I am hesitant to give away my secret!). They have the sweetest beach. You can almost always see cool wildlife. They have bathrooms and a little outdoor shower to rinse feet. Best of all, during the week, there’s hardly ever anyone there! Otherwise, Harmon Park in Saint Paul is a cool splash pad (but it is busy!).

Ice Cream or popsicles?

What is the secret ingredient to Thunder Cake?

I’ll never tell!

Emily lives in Saint Paul with her partner, Lukas, and their three kids: Penny (age 8), Flora (preschooler in Willow Tree), and Cosmo (age 1).
