A whimsical slow paced summer is the overarching theme of our early childhood summer camp. Each day is spent outside playing on our beautiful eight acres. Sandbox, slide, mud kitchens, and gardens will be waiting at drop off each morning to ignite creative play. Simple crafts of summer will keep interested hands busy and illuminate the season. Clean up time, circle games and a healthy snack happen mid-morning before we head out front to engage in water play, nature hikes, and tending chickens.
Children staying all day will pack a lunch from home, have rest-time, and then head outside for more play.
Come join us!

Grades Camp – rising second through sixth grade in the fall
An Art Based Summer Camp for Older Children. Second through sixth grade in the fall. Theme weeks (below) are for older children only. Each theme week is structured on a five-day week to provide ample time for children to relax, make friends, and immerse themselves in the themed activities.
Week 1: Magical Creatures (June 19-June 23)
Start the summer off right with one of our favorite weeks! We’ll build beautiful fairy houses to hang on porches or in trees along with the furniture and fairies to go with them. We’ll turn ourselves into fairies with cardboard wings, and wands. Together we’ll host a tea party and sweet treat picnic under the trees.
Week 2: Natural Dyes & Tie-Dye (June 26-June 30)
Experience the wonder of natural dyes! This week we’ll make and dye playdough, color bandanas with natural dye, and tie-dye t-shirts. We’ll learn which makes the best eco paint: plants, berries, coffee grounds, or dirt. Flower printing and making beeswax wraps will round out our dye week!
Week 3: Bread & Butter (July 10-July 14)
Let’s bake! We’ll make bread, jam, and butter and all sorts of table top accessories. Wax candle dipping, wooden cutting boards, and naturally dyed cloth napkins will supplement our bread filled tables.
Week 4: Puppets (July 17-July 21)
Learn the ins and outs of puppetry! Campers will learn to make and manipulate their very own puppets. Mask making, set design, and skits will round out this puppet filled week that will end with an MWS summer camp puppet show! * $25 Supplies fee added to cost.
Week 5: Down on the Farm (July 24-July 28)
Planting, reaping and especially sowing! Campers will learn all about what it’s like to tend and care for a garden with special focus on enjoying the fruits of their labor! Fruit and vegetable preparation and preservation will be stars of this week. Salads, pickling, juicing, and jam making!
Week 6: All Things Flight (July 31-Aug. 4)
Join us as we explore the skies! We’ll learn how to make the best paper airplanes, craft with balloons, and practice backyard ornithology. Campers will make pollinator houses and learn the many uses of beeswax. We’ll also enjoy a visit from the Raptor Center and a real live bald eagle!
