Back to School! 2022-2023

Welcome, Dear Families!

We are elated to welcome you, new and returning, to the 2022-23 school year at Minnesota Waldorf School.

As the fresh, new school year approaches, joy and excitement are palpable. Summer camp keeps the school ringing with the sound of happy, busy children, and under the late summer sun, the grapes in the early childhood yard are starting to get plump and purple. The flowers have halos of bee visitors.

Through the faculty, administration, board, and parents’ collaborative and consistent work over the last school year, many initiatives that were begun are starting to show substantial growth, including our Educational Support program and enrollment.

Our new garden beds in the front yard are growing determinedly despite the heat and drought of the summer! Among the flowers and vegetable plants, one brave squash plant has made the prudent decision to nearly skip the leaf-making stage and go straight to the flower-making stage with a joyful purpose. Perhaps we will discover the fruits of its labor in our Harvest/Michaelmas soup at the end of September.

This school year is bright with promise and overflowing with warm purpose. We have several new, highly skilled faculty members joining us this year. Each one brings wonderful energy and fresh, vibrant inspiration with them. We have added several new positions to our roles this year, including an Educational Support Coordinator and a 3-day preschool teacher. We also have a new Reading Tutor, Julie Parry, and a new Growing Together Lead Teacher, Emily Barstad. Be sure to give them a warm Waldorf welcome when you meet them!

Additionally, this year we will welcome back many traditions that were on hold due to the pandemic, including Friday Gatherings and the beloved Holiday Fair! Check your calendars for the dates for these and other wonderful events. Families are always warmly welcome, including grandparents, extended family, and other important caregivers.
