Sarah Erickson Lume

Sarah Erickson Lume is a member of the woodwind faculty at Gustavus Adolphus College, where she actively oversees the musical training of oboe students and leads a college level recorder ensemble. She also leads the upper grades recorder ensemble program at the Minnesota Waldorf School.

Sarah performs as freelance oboist in the Twin Cities and teaches private lessons to local middle and high school students. She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College and spent three years under the tutelage of Pittsburgh Symphony’s Principal Oboist, Cynthia Koledo DeAlmeida, earning a master of arts in music performance from Carnegie Mellon University.

As a mother of a recent MWS graduate and a current student, Sarah and her husband, Charlie, appreciate the school’s rich pedagogy, especially in the arts.
