Marjorie Maier holds a bachelor of science degree in special education, with additional teaching certificates in elementary, early childhood education, and Waldorf education. She has been serving the MWS community since 1986, taking on various roles: class teacher for twelve years, early childhood teacher for ten years, home preschool teacher for eight years, and reading tutor for several years.
Early in her career, while teaching in the public school system, Marjorie attended a lecture on alternatives in education. There she heard about Waldorf education and began adding Waldorf pedagogy to her public school classwork. Inspired by the effects Waldorf methods had in her classroom, she and her husband, David, completed Waldorf teacher training and soon after decided to make the Minnesota Waldorf School their educational home.
They have three amazing adult children, who have all graduated from MWS, and five beautiful grandchildren. Marjorie enjoys spending time with the grandkids, traveling, and being in the beautiful woods she lives in. Fun Fact: Marjorie’s husband says she owns way too many scarves.
