For current MWS families considering a gift:
- We ask that you participate at any level you can. A high percentage participation rate (85% or higher) helps MWS when applying for grants or retaining sponsorships or donations for events.
- The gap between tuition and the cost of a child’s education at MWS is estimated at $2,000 per child. If it is possible for your family to give at this level, please consider the difference you can make for our school.
- We realize that not everyone can give at this level. Give what you can, and please remember that our percentage of participation is critical to our success when applying for grants or looking for sponsors.

Can others support our Annual Fund campaign?
Yes! Everyone can make a difference. Alumni, friends and extended family who have seen the benefits of MWS and Waldorf education are also invited to donate, as well as anyone who has become interested in our school and Waldorf education.
A significant portion of Annual Fund donations are received from generous grandparents and extended family members, alumni families and friends, in recognition of the impact this education has on all of our children and our world.
Why donate through GiveMN.org?
GiveMN.org is a nonprofit organization created to facilitate giving to MN nonprofits, including the Minnesota Waldorf School. They are funded by other MN nonprofits which allows them to charge minimal administrative fees for transactions – unlike other online or workplace giving programs that take up to 11% in administrative fees.
Receiving most of our donations in one day also lowers our fundraising costs by reducing the number of follow-up mailings and utilizing less administrative time and effort.
Why do we hold an Annual Fund Campaign each year?
A strong operating budget supports our ability to maintain and improve our curriculum, and also supports our ability to continue giving 14% (on average) of our total income back to the community in the form of tuition assistance. Donations also help keep tuition as low as possible.
